So This is a Normal Samford Weekend

Well. This schweekend, I was going to go home. I talked to my brother earlier in the week and asked if I could borrow the car (my car is a white '95 toyota avalon that has 200,000 miles on it that Joe now drives, so I have to borrow Jeff's whenever I go home). He said "maybe." On Friday, when I called him after I got out of class at 11:30, he didn't pick up. When he finally called back at 2, I couldn't decide if I wanted to go. I talked to my mom and she suggested that I just stay here. So I did. I'm here.

Yesterday, Sarah Waller and I walked around and took pictures of Samford for a website she's making. Oh, and on the way back to Pittman, there was a long, single-file line of elementary school children. I saw them and couldn't resist - I stuck out my hand, ran past them, and welcomed them to campus as I high-fived them all. For the win.

Other things happened in the day.

We went to the Z-Outlet, and Kaleigh and I got sweatbands and wristbands with our initials on them, and Brooke, Eb, and Kaleigh got suspenders. I'm not really sure why.. Haha.

Then Virginia and I went to BSC, washed our clothes, and saw Jeff and 3 of his friends play in a benefit concert.

OK. I MUST INTERRUPT THIS POST WITH A VERY IMPORTANT ALERT.

I put my computer down to run outside and participate in the events that I am about to relate to you. This is first-hand, first-alert news.

Today has been stormy all day. Kaleigh, Shea, and I joked around, making a storm chaser video, in which he stood in the rain, reported the weather, and interviewed people in Walmart.

About an hour ago, Kaleigh and I see Cailin (our RA) leave Pittman. About 40 minutes ago, Eb and Whitney went to Taco Bell. About 45 minutes ago, we were watching Jurassic Park 2 and we heard a tornado siren that we thought, at first, was part of the movie. It was not.

Sarah Waller just called and said that all of Vail (the other girls dorm) is all on the first floor, threatened with values violations if they leave. Of course Pittman is left behind, with no one to care for us.

Needless to say, we decide to document this. Kaleigh, Eb, and I just went outside into the storm, to video our reactions, concerns, and laughter. Kaleigh is wearing her new polka-dot Samford PJ's and I have on my nightgown. It is very windy, with a lot of lightning and a little rain.

Annnd after our filming, still hyped up on adrenaline from another adventure that happened today that I cannot say because it is worthy of a values violation, I got really brave, and migggght have flashed the empty, storm ridden campus, running around with my nightgown above my head. Kaleigh and Eb followed.

A little silliness in a time of great danger.

For the win.
