Well. In the fall, we had a gold star chart on our hall. We had several different categories, with activities or events, such as going to the Hanna Center to work out, eating in the caf for every meal, 8+ facebook notifications, most sightings of Prince Caspian, etc. Every week we would have a team meeting, and stars would be awarded. At the end of the competition, Paizley and I got giant 3D cardboart gold stars for everyone. We also got 4 tiny silver trophies for the top 4 competitors. Paizley won, I got 2nd place, and Kaleigh and Becca tied for 3rd place, so we all received a trophy.
Although the trophy is small, it holds a huge spot in my heart. Kaleigh feels the same way. Over Thanksgiving break, she brought her trophy everywhere she went - to art galleries, to Thanksgiving dinner, etc. Over Christmas break, I followed her lead. I placed it on the plateau between my windshield and radio/air conditioning system in my car, and drove around everywhere with it, making a point to drive slowly and carefully in order for it to stay upright. I even took it to get pictures with Santa's Claws, as you see below.
Naturally, I plan to bring my trophy to Colorado. It will brave 37 degree rapids, mountains, snow, and mountain lions.
It will do everything with me, because I am a winner.
