Eb. 2 little letters. But so fascinating.
Even though she is my 11th favorite child (out of 11 children), I will miss her so much over the summer.
She came home with me for the first weekend of spring break, and she fell in love with my friend Blakeley. So when I came home this weekend, she came with me - but solely to see him (but he is actually going out of town tomorrow morning, so she won't get to see him - tragic). But either way.
Eb.
I love Eb.
About two hours ago, we had a little snack, consisting of some chicken that my mom grilled then sauteed, with some white sauce that Eb just called "gold," right after she asked if she could take a huge jar of it back with her to school. Well. We were about to leave to go to one of my friend's house, so she grabbed a tube of toothpaste on the counter top and dabbed some on her finger. She proceeded to brush her teeth with her finger. After laughing in my head for a few seconds, I said "Eb, would you rather a piece of gum?" She agreed.
When we got into the car, I lifted up the middle console and handed her a piece of gum, and also, jokingly,
offered her my brother's wisdom teeth (for some reason, his 4 wisdom teeth, complete with roots, are in a plastic ziplock bag in the console). Fascinated, she picked up the bag and examined the year and a half old teeth carefully.
I laughed at her.
But then she asked if she could have one. Yes. Eb asked if she could have one of my brother's decaying wisdom teeth.
According to Eb, it would look fierce if you had it hanging from a necklace. "No one would bother you!" she claims.
She wants to bleach it and make it into a necklace. No big deal.
Also, she is in love with my pantry. I have 6 siblings. 5 brothers and 1 sister. Naturally, because boys are constantly eating, my pantry is stocked. As soon as we walked in this afternoon, Eb pointed straight at the pantry. She just spent about 10 minutes in there (That's when I decided to dedicate a blog solely to her).
She just opened the refrigerator and said "I think I will spend my days in here, and my nights in the pantry."
Oh Eb.
I love how she so highly values little things that I take for granted. I've never known an empty pantry that
honestly cannot be filled. I've always had the ability to just go buy whatever I think I "need." But even though I don't know much about Morocco or France or West Africa or any of the other places Virginia has lived, I know that Eb is honestly one of the most grateful yet giving people I know. She genuinely cares about people, both ones she knows, and strangers around the world.
So Eb, even though we pick on you allll the time - you are legit. I will miss you this summer. Let's skype.
*Eb and Lil Wayne titled this post.
That was a really good post. Cool reminder about the pantry/fridge - I was just thinking about that yesterday
