All of that changed last semester. First, I played intramural flag football. It sounds intense. I know. And it was. It was my first time to ever play, and it was so fun. (This is a picture of our team):
I played running back on offense, and lineman on defense. I got hurt just about every game, and I got 2 or 3 shirts ripped throughout the season. We didn't win a single game, but it was so fun and I made a lot of new friends. (Paizley, Kaleigh, Sarah Waller, and Abby were also on the team, which created more bonding within The Team.)
This semester, I was co-captain of an intramural soccer team. It was a lot of fun. Unlike flag football, we won every single game. We actually dominated every single game. I think at least 3 of our 5 games ended early because we scored so many goals. But, story of my life, the only game we lost was our championship game. To Phi Mu. Lame. I have tendonitis in my left foot from
running a 10k over spring break, so I had to play goalie. And it stunk. But it was still fun. (Brooke, Caroline, Sarah Waller, and Abby were all on the team. Julie was the team mom and Eb was our head cheerleader.) Here's a picture of most of our soccer team:
Well, my newest sport is lacrosse. I'm part of the Samford Women's Club Lacrosse Team. I've never played before. And honestly - I suck. The only reason I can sort of catch the ball is because during spring break, I made my 8 year old little brother play catch with me. But it is a lot harder than it looks. The pockets on the girls' lacrosse sticks are not very deep, which makes catching nearly impossible, especially while you are running and wearing a mask and mouth guard, and while you have girls trying to "check your stick," which means they can hit your stick as hard as they can in attempt to knock the ball loose. So I commend everyone on my team who can catch.
I don't think I will be able to play in any games this semester, because of my tendonitis and because I have a triathalon the 17th (if my foot is better), and I think I'm going home the 24th, which are the days of the team's games. But next semester I plan on being legit.
Annnd that's all. For now. I wasn't really sure what to write about, and Paizley said "Lacrosse," so naturally, because I know nothing about lacrosse, I had to tell of all of my other teams too. Haha.
