So This Really Exists?

Well. I flew into Denver yesterday around 12:25, stalked some people who I recognized from my flight in order to find the baggage claim (it was on the entire other side of the airport - I had to take a train and make some turns, etc.), lugged allll of my things around the airport and found some lunch, talked to my parents on the phone, and then met Lauren, Katie, and Alex (Gabriel, angel of the Lord) and the 4 of us drove to Buena Vista (a 3ish hour drive - but the most beautiful drive I've ever been on) in Alex's tiny truck (my knees were touching the driver's seat, and I had like 3 bags piled on top of me - but it was just the way I like it). Buena Vista is in the valley, between beautiful mountains. And it is down-town Fairhope, just with Mountains all around, not the bay.

Anyways, today we did 8 hours of Wilderness Advanced First Aid training through NOLS. It was actually pretty interesting. A lot better than life-guarding/first aid/cpr classes that I've taken before. But I am so tired.

I took this picture on the drive to BV, from Denver:

This is the house I'm living in this summer. Yes, those mountains are in my backyard.

So This is How the Adventure Begins

Well. I’m sitting on the plane right now (I don’t have internet in the sky, I’m just writing this in Microsoft Word and I’ll copy and paste it later). I am sitting by the window – duh – but we are above all of the clouds and it is so bright outside, so the window covers are down. I’m sitting by two guys, each over 6 feet tall, and both sleeping. I really have to pee, but there is no way that I am brave enough to try to get over them or to wake them up and ask them to move. So I’m just going to hold it. Fun times.

I woke up bright and early this morning, about 5:55 AM, took a shower, finished throwing things in my bag, and then SB dropped me off at the airport a little bit after 7.

First of all, I have two large rolling bags, a backpack, a pillow with a blanket shoved in it, annnd a large tote-like bag that SB gave me (Thank you for that, by the way, Sara Beth. I like it a lot.). That sounds like a lot, I know. And it is. It is also a little tricky carrying all of those things by myself. Ok. Let’s get real - it’s more than a little tricky, it’s basically impossible. But either way, somehow I manage to roll/push/shove/scoot all of those things up to the desk, where the lady weighs my biggest bag. 58 pounds. 8 pounds over the limit, which is an extra $50 charge. Thankfully the lady let me do some re-organizing, and after taking a couple t-shirts out of that bag and putting them in my backpack and other two bags, she re-weighed it – 49.5 pounds. Close call. Who knew t-shirts weighed that much? (I also have about 30+ in my bag.. Overzealous. I know.)

Well. After dropping off my checked bags, I meandered over to the security part. Nothing exciting happened. Then I went to my gate and waited. Boring. Thennn I got onto the plane to NOLA. And the only thing I could think was “What have I gotten myself in to? Well, too late. We’re in the air. No turning back now.”

Well, that plane ride was only about 50 minutes, and very boring. I buckled my pillow into the seat next to me. I don’t know why.

After getting off that plane, I found my next terminal. About an inch away from where I got off of the other plane. So easy. Well, there was a woman sitting in the chair right behind me as I waited, who was on my flight from Birmingham and was also going to Denver. So of course, when she started talking to two other ladies sitting next to her, I had to eaves drop. This lady, who had a walking stick, and was wearing a visor, scrunchy (sp?) in her hair, a shirt with a wolf howling at the moon on it (like the kind Joseph Wolnski used to wear), knew everything. She did not stop talking the entire 45 minutes we had to wait. One of the ladies she was talking to was about 65ish, and she jokingly said “So, did you party last night?” And the wolf-walking stick-visor lady, in all seriousness goes, “No. I do not part.” She did not crack a smile the whole time. (Oh, apparently the 65ish lady did party last night – but she said she didn’t drink, just partied.) Then she started talking about how she went to bed at 10:30, woke up at 3:30 and drove down to Birmingham from where she lives (Trinity, AL, which is about 15 minutes west of Hunstville, as I learned from eaves dropping), and about her grandchildren, and her father who is sick in the hospital, and about her children, and everything else in the world. I miiiight have put my phone an inch away from her and taken a picture and sent it to SB… No big deal.

Now I’m on the plane to Denver. Still holding my pee. I think there’s like 45 minutes left. Ohhh goodness.

---

I am in Buena Vista now, but I do not have time right now to talk about what happened over the past few hours. But I will later.

So I Forgot to Add this Earlier

Well.
I love Matthew Mayfield.

I added him as my friend on facebook today.
For the win.

So Many Words

Well. I don't even know where to begin.

Last night was ridiculous.

Kaleigh and I spent like 2 hours in Tyler's office, just hanging out with "Father."

And then Courtney, Kaleigh, and I went to the Z-Outlet and got a sweat band with an F monogrammed on it, for Tyler (They didn't have a T for Tyler, so we got an F for Father). After that, we went with Paizley, Sarah Waller, and Bobby to Baha Burgers - so good.

Oh. And then Kaleigh and I decided that we wanted to ride in the back of Bobby's truck. Laying down. After driving through the parking lot for a few minutes, he decided he wasn't comfortable with us driving on 280 like that, so he made us get into the regular part. What a responsible Bobbert. But once we got back to Samford, he let us get back there, and we drove around. It was so fun.

Thennn. At like 1030, Kaleigh, Courtney, and I decided we wanted to go to Kids Got the Disco at Bottletree. Best choice I've made in a while. It was so fun! I did more fist pumps that night than I've done in my whole life combined. Kids Got the Disco is a techno rave that happens the first Friday of every month. It was so fun to just jump around and dance. And at first it was a little scary, because the three of us came alone, but then we ran into Cameron and Tim, and they actually ended up riding back with us, so it was not scary.

Oh, but while we were there. There was this boy. And while the strobe light was on for part of a song (when the strobe light was on, because you can only see like every other action, I felt so weird - like everything was a dream - not good or bad - just a dream), he tried to start dancing all up on Kaleigh. So as she fist pumped, she sort of jumped around and moved behind me, so I was between her and the sketchball. But that was not all. She started pushing me towards him. And not just like an accidental little nudge, but a full force shove. Thankfully my shoes had excellent traction, allowing me to maintain my balance and not fall onto him. After that whole thing happened again, I decided that we should move front and center, away from the boy. So we did.

Oh, even better. The DJ's mom was there because it was her birthday. I say she was about 65. Grandma was there. Dancing. In cargo-capris and a button up shirt. Made my night.

Annnd then once we got back to Samford, we ran through the sprinklers right outside of Pittman. My sweatband and wristband are still wet, from sweat and the sprinklers, so I could not wear them in my 5k this morning.

Anyways, I'm all moved out of Samford. Done. :(

But I'm spending the night at SB's. We're watching Leap Year tonight. So excited. :)

(Raaave.)

So I'M DONE.

Well. I just got done with my last two exams - organic chemistry and anatomy. Neither of them were as bas as I thought they were going to be. My grades may not reflect that idea when I get them back, but that is not important.

As soon as I got done, I ran back from the science center, stopped by Tyler's office to tell him I'm done, and then ran back to Pittman. After I gathered the troops (only Shea, Virginia, Kaleigh, Courtney, and Becca were here), we ran down the hall, up/around/down the stairs, and then back to our hall. All while ringing the dinner bell and yelling things like "I'm done! I'm done! I'm done! No more Dr. Gregory! No more anatomy!" etc.

Needless to say, I am a litttle sweaty from all of that running, but it was worth it. So fun.

And I am officially a sophomore in college. And I'm done. Ready for Colorado. 36 hours.

So yeahh.

Well.

I am not studying.

So This is Ridiculous

Well. I have studied more in the past 3 or 4 days than I have in a lonnng time. Maybe ever. Now I'm a studier (I have to put in some work for my grades), but this is ridiculous. Yesterday I worked from 12 until about 5, then about 2 or 3 hours after that. And today I've worked from 1130 until 5:30, and then for about an hour or 2. My game plan has been to work for about an hour on CP, rotating with about an 1.5 to 2 hours on anatomy or organic, throwing in a little concepts whenver I feel like it. But because I haven't actually taken any of my exams yet, I feel like I've accomplished nothing. I have concepts and CP tomorrow, so I think I will feel a little more productive after those. Buttt then I have to organic tests and anatomy within 24 hours of each other. Oh my gosh. But it can be done. And it'll all be worth it Friday at 11:15ish.

Anyways. This week is sad. I didn't realize how freaking fast this semester, and even this year, went by. I know, I know, everyone is saying that. But it is crazy to remember that Step Sing, Spring Break, and even Easter were all this semester. They seem like so long ago! And I hate having to spend my last week sitting at my desk. I'm going to have so much to do Friday and Saturday (Korea, hang out with SB, Kids Got the Disco, 5k, Hayley?, Pittman, packing, etc.). Everytime someone says something, I'm like "Oh, yeah, let's do that Friday." So yeahh. Sorry whoever I said that to, because I'll probably forget... Haha.

Ok, let me think about something interesting.

Pandora only gives you 40 hours a month. I used all of them last month, and I think in this week, I'll use all of the May ones. Ooops. Oh, that was not interesting.

Let me think of something better.

Tonight, we went to double-points Tuesday at Qdoba, like we do every Tuesday. On the way to Qdob, Kaleigh turned on some techno, and we mayyy have danced the whole way there. And on the way home, we yelled out of the window at just about everyone, telling them about their lives. Like "You are running!" "You are driving a mini-van!" "You are turning!" "You are talking on your phone!" You are a man!" etc. It was so fun. It was such a nice, yet very weird way to release all of my energy from studying. I think I laughed for about 20 minutes straight. It felt so nice. Sitting at my desk for 8 hours a day is not exactly my definition of fun.

Welll. SB, you are coming home tomorrow? And I will see you Friday?? Yes! I can't wait.

Here are some pictures from Spring Fling and Mat Kearney:
Kaleigh, Traitor, and I. Best friends.

Diiiiva.

Most of SAC and Mat Kearney.

Mat Kearney.

ps. I made a final resolution to get over stupid Nate this past weekend, and I feel so great. Honestly. For the past few months I've been subconsciously holding out, but now I am done. I am a new kid. Ready for adventure. Ready for the summer. Ready for fun.

So It's Official

Well. I've been slacking so much in my blogging. (I'm very sorry SB. You have been so faithful. I love all of your posts.) Last week I had my Organic Chemistry lab final on Wednesday, so I spent Monday and Tuesday studying for it, then Thursday was Spring Fling and Mat Kearney, so I was busy allll day.

But this weekend I surprised my mom and dad and drove down to their house on Friday afternoon. I made it in my usual 3 hour and 30 minutes. I play this game with myself of trying to drive all the way without stopping. Which is tricky, because I alllways have to pee. Out of every time I've driven down there this year, I think I've only stopped on one of the trips. That's a winning season.

Annnyways. Nathan had a little-league game Friday night, so I went to that and it was so fun. He played very well and they won, and the rain held off until the game was over.

He plays first base for the Mets. And he's number 1, which makes cheering very easy. Because I can yell things like "Go Nathan! You're #1!"

OH. And I got to go to Michael's house Friday night, for the first time since like October. So fun. I went over there before everyone else did, so for like 30 minutes we just hung out and talked and joked around while I worked on some stuff on my computer and he played Call of Duty. It was so nice to just relax and not worry about anything. And of course all of the treats at Michael's house made it even better. I can't wait till he comes to BSC next year!

So I'm just going to be honest - this may be my last post until Friday or Saturday. I have my CP and Concepts exams on Wednesday, an Organic test on Thursday, and my Organic and Anatomy finals on Friday. Soooo. Yeah. I made myself a schedule for today, tomorrow, and Tuesday, and it's sad. There are like 5-10 minutes between my study sessions. I get like one 1 hour break each day. My thinking cap will spend a lot of time on my head this week as I sit at my desk. And I will bring it to my exams too. Haha.

Let me think.

It's 12:41 am. I haven't been able to sleep lately. My average bed time for the past week or two has been between 1 and 2. Which is very different compared to my usual 11:30ish bedtime. I also haven't been very hungry this week. I'm not sure what the deal is. I haven't been super stressed. Or at least I don't think I have. (The amount of pain in my stomach from the acid usually indicates how stressed I am, and it has been fine.)

So yeah. Next week at this time I will be in Colorado. I said goodbye to my family, Bethany, Tyler, SK, David, and Michael this afternoon. It was weird. This Saturday will also be so weird when I say goodbye to all the Samford people. And Sunday, when I say goodbye to SB and I actually walk onto the plane will be surreal. I'm sad to leave, but also so excited. I just wish my last 5 days weren't going to be spend at my desk studying. :(

But it'll be over soon!

Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
